As July comes to a close, we meet the halfway point of our summer. We've had so much fun so far. Not only do we feel extra special that Ms. Laura is with us, but it's awesome to see the kiddies get closer together and have some good old fashion fun. Between the spashing in the sprinklers to giggles at the park, it's been a great summer holiday so far.
Matthew is growing leaps and bounds with his big sister role modelling for him. He's a mimic whenever he can get away with it. More and more words and sentences are coming out. Sure do miss sign language though. I truly believe he would be less frustrated some days with a little help with some signs to give us once and awhile.
So just like Gabrielle loved her swinging time at Matthew's age, he loves the slides just as much. Even at the water park we had to sneak him in (he was a half inch too short) to get in some slide time there too.
Gabrielle's doing great and can talk the ears off a monkey with her questions. I thought the "why" question stage was over at 3? She's curious to the max and wants to know about everything and anything you're willing to talk about. Even though we're not at school for the summer, we've had lots of opportunities to have fun with friends. Including our Tuesday night soccer nights, though I've not seen any true soccer played this season!
We had an amazing time at the E's family cottage. What a beautiful spot. Lots of swimming, sandbox time and the adults had some time too. They were all so exhausted, everyone went down like a dream by 8:30 - including the daddies! We also enjoyed Canada Day activities at the beach and look forward to the many field trips Ms. Laura has planned for us!
With a month still to go, we're looking forward to exploring what's all around us. Wishing everyone back home a great summer!
